Whether you’re joining MU Vienna from abroad, elsewhere in Austria or from right here in Vienna, getting settled into your new home is going to have a lot of moving parts. Here we take you through some of the major considerations when moving away to university.
MOVING TO VIENNA
Essential information you need to know before moving to the world's most liveable city.
Cost of Living: Vienna is known for its high quality of life, but it's important to plan your budget accordingly. While costs can vary, the average monthly expenses for a student, including accommodation, food, transportation, and leisure activities, are estimated to be around €900-€1,200. This will give you a comfortable lifestyle in the city.
Meldezettel: Upon arriving in Vienna, you will need to register your residence with the authorities by obtaining a "Meldezettel." This is a mandatory step that ensures your legal presence in the city. You will need to visit the relevant municipal office with your passport, tenancy agreement, and other required documents.
