Experience-based entry and flexible study options define this unique bachelor program. Unlike traditional requirements, a high school diploma is not necessary for direct entry. Instead, applicants must showcase several years of relevant industry experience.
Furthermore, students have the freedom to personalize their studies according to their career goals and interests within this dynamic industry. The program duration can also be extended to accommodate employment commitments.
Please note that proficiency in German is a prerequisite for this program as it is conducted in the language. Therefore, applicants must possess an appropriate level of German language skills.
The program requires the completion of 180 ECTS. 30 ECTS must be earnt from completing the ÖHV Unternehmerakamie (UNA) and previous academic qualifications or professional work experience can be credited to a maximum of 60 ECTS. Reductions are possible for ÖHV members.
Study Plan
ÖVH Mandatory Module 1: In this first module led by the ÖVH Unternehmerakademie, students will embark on their educational journey by exploring crucial aspects such as People and Leadership, Strategic Hotel Management, engaging in Expert Talks, and gaining an understanding of Finance and Investing in the hospitality industry. Please note, these courses are all taught in German, so students need to have a very good understanding and proficiency in German language.

MU Vienna Mandatory Module 3: A 900-hour internship will provide students with invaluable hands-on experience in real-world settings, allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills in a professional environment, solidifying their understanding of the industry and building their network.

MU Vienna Mandatory Module 2 / Semester 2: Students will delve into the world of Entrepreneurship, analyze the intricacies of Tourism and Hospitality Business, and gain insight into the legal framework through Business Law courses, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the industry.

When applying for the Bachelor Professional, applicants must provide the following documents in English:
Curriculum vitae (personal data sheet)
Letter of motivation (description of reasons for applying to Modul University Vienna)
Proof of relevant work experience
One letter of recommendation
Proof of English proficiency level B2*
Proof of German proficiency level B2*
Copy of passport
Passport-sized photograph
OPTIONAL: Proof you have been accepted to or completed ÖHV Unternehmerakamie (UNA). If you have not yet applied to ÖHV, we will need to liaise with ÖHV to ensure admission will be granted for both institutions.
ACCEPTED LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR APPLICANTS:
- TOEFL Internet-Based Test– 79 points. A minimum of 22 points in writing is required
- IELTS – band score 6.5. We do not accept sub-scores below 6.0. A minimum of 6.0 in writing is required
- Cambridge Certificate – First Certificate in English (FCE): Minimum grade B and a minimum of 173 points are required
- Pearson Academic – 59 points
- Exceptions will only be considered for students who are English natives or have completed their high school education entirely in English at recognized International Schools following American, British, or IB curricula. Our admissions committee maintains the authority to request any additional evidence of English proficiency if deemed necessary.
