This foundation program is specifically designed as an ideal starting point for the BSc in Applied Data Science at MU Vienna. This program is the perfect entry point for students who may not have had a solid introduction into data science or programming, despite feeling a connection to the subject. Topics covered in this one-semester program include Business Communication, Mathematics, Calculus and Basics in Computer Programming.

If you are conditionally accepted into one of our undergraduate programs with the condition of first completing a Foundation Program, the Undergraduate Dean may deem it possible for you to study Foundation Program “without English” or Foundation Program “Mathematics only”.

Foundation Admissions
The Foundation Programs offer students the opportunity to improve their English and deepen their knowledge in basic subject areas that are required for undergraduate study.
It is possible to study a Foundation Program without continuing on to study an undergraduate degree at Modul University Vienna, however our Foundation programs are specifically designed to prepare students for our bachelor programs. If you're a non-EU/EEA applicant and plan to study only a Foundation Program at MU, please be aware that online study is the eligible option for you.
If you wish to study a Bachelor program with MU Vienna, please apply for a Bachelor program as you may still be accepted on the condition of first completing our one-semester Foundation Program. In this case, you do not need to apply separately or again for the Foundation Program.

If you are only applying for the Foundation Program and do not plan to continue with a Bachelor’s program at MU, you will need the following documents for enrollment:
Curriculum vitae (personal data sheet)
Letter of motivation (description of reasons for applying to Modul University Vienna)
High school certificate
High school transcripts of records
Copy of passport
Passport-sized photograph
Proof of English proficiency
ACCEPTED LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:
TOEFL Internet-Based Test– 65 points.
IELTS – band score 5.5. We do not accept sub-scores below 5.0
Cambridge Certificate – First Certificate in English (FCE) B2: Minimum grade C
If you wish to study a Bachelor’s program at MU, but are not directly eligible or prefer a preparatory semester, begin your application directly for your desired Bachelor’s program in the Application Portal. In this instance, you will have to follow the Bachelor Program requirements for enrollment. Our admissions team will discuss your options with you during the online interview and add the completion of the foundation program as a condition to your admission to one of our bachelor programs.
