MU Startup Hub hosts first pitching event for budding entrepreneurs

Last night the MODUL University Vienna Startup Hub successfully hosted its very first open stage pitching event.

Students were given the chance to pitch their startup ideas to their colleagues as well as an experienced panel including radio DJ Philipp Luther (pictured - right), presenter on Austria's biggest radio station. This inaugural event gave budding entrepreneurs their first exposure to the world of corporate presentation, as well as usable feedback on their pitch style, concept and business model.

Pitching is the process by which speakers present their company, solutions, business model and target markets in order to gain investment or generate excitement around their product. The time slots provided by the MU Startup Hub were designed as realistic dry-runs for the real thing. Complete with a thorough Q&A session from the panel, each of the participants gained all important experience from the event.

Four projects took the opportunity to talk, with fledgling companies ranging from hospitality management and disabled friendly holidays to food delivery and creative consulting.

The MU Startup Hub is an initiative of the MODUL Career office. It provides students and external innovators a stage on which to build their startup idea, develop entrepreneurial skills and create watertight concepts. The Startup Hub allows those with an interest in forming their own company to make use of the various workshops and networking opportunities at MODUL University Vienna.
